In the month that Nadir Afonso complete 90 years of age, the Museum of the Presidency organized an exhibition commemorating the life and work of the artist at the Palace of the architect Bethlehem, essayist and painter Nadir Afonso, born in Clark, in 1920, developed , throughout his creative life, a work useful and unique, unmistakable in the landscape aesthetic, philosophical and contemporary art.
In this exhibition presents nine works by the author regarded as decisive in their creative journey, from the 1930s to the present. Besides these works, and some personal items that construct a biographical narrative, are shown for the first time publicly, about 150 drawings and studies that document the artist's creative process.
The painting of Nadir Afonso was immortalized not only in screen, as in several other media, presenting in this exhibition, some pieces of tapestry, ceramics, illustration of this plurality. Also on display, many bibliographic copies of his vast work in the field of philosophy and art theory.
